The Reverend Dr. Thomas Gregory “Greg” Gray is originally from Monroe, in rural northeast Georgia.  He did his undergraduate work at the University of Georgia and graduated in 2008 with an AB in Speech Communication and although he started playing the piano when he was four years old in 2011 he graduated with an AB in Music focusing on vocal performance.

While living in Georgia, Greg worked for Reconciling Ministries Network in The United Methodist Church as a Regional Coordinator promoting RMN in 5 Southeastern Conferences (North GA, South GA, SC, NC, and Western NC).

Greg then began his graduate level work at Emory University graduating with a Master of Divinity at Candler School of Theology in May 2014. He then completed a Master of Sacred Theology at Boston University School of Theology in May 2015 in which he focused his graduate work on liturgical studies and sacred music.

Finally, he is attained a Doctor of Ministry also from Boston University School of Theology focusing Queer Theology and liturgics with an eye on the worship practices of the church and how we can make them inclusive of all people through our diverse expressions of liturgy and music. 

Greg currently resides in Danielson, CT with his husband, the Reverend Dr. Jonathan Chapman who is the pastor of Westfield Church, UCC in Danielson. He is the pastor of Enfield United Church of Christ in Enfield, CT since 2020, which became ONA in 2022 and WISE for Mental Health in 2024. He holds a seat on the Open and Affirming Coalition Leadership Team is the co-chair of the Southern New England Conference ONA Ministry Team, but most of all Greg enjoys being a Process Coach to help churches become Open and Affirming.

Raised in faith and called to serve, Ashley is devoted to supporting the life and mission of the church. She brings experience from many years of lay leadership and her previous role in church administration, where she cultivated her strengths in collaboration, relationship-building, and supporting both clergy and congregation. Ashley strives to create welcoming spaces where both members and visitors feel valued and connected. She is especially passionate about supporting the behind-the-scenes work that allows ministries, worship, and community outreach to flourish.

In her free time, Ashley enjoys reading and spending time with her family, and she is grateful for the opportunity to serve as part of our team.

David Kidwell

David Kidwell

Principal Accompanist

David Kidwell brings over 40 years of church music experience to Enfield UCC. He is also conductor of the Holyoke Civic Symphony, visiting lecturer in music at Mount Holyoke College, a keyboardist at the Goodspeed Opera House, and a music theatre accompanist at The Hartt School. David holds a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Mary Washington and a master’s degree in composition from The Hartt School. Several books of his original compositions for organ have been published by Lorenz. David lives in Holyoke, MA with his fiancée Mary Annarella, a singer, microbiology instructor, and knitwear designer.

Mary McDonald

Mary McDonald

Nursery Attendant

Mary McDonald is a very caring and positive person. She always has a smile on her face, easy to talk to, and easy to get to know. Working with kids has always been a passion of hers, this is why she is so excited to work in the nursery. She believes that kids are so fun, and it is always enjoyable watching them learn and grow. Her favorite thing about working in the education field for more than 8 years is the “lightbulb moment” when a child finally understands or completes a task they have been working on. Mary is very excited to start working with you and your child.
